Since we started publishing SCOR Report© in 1994, we have been
asked to answer thousands of general questions about small business
finance, how to start businesses, where to find help, and how to sell a
business. This site is the result of those questions. It is the
distillation of the things we have learned in 35 years of small-business
life. It's purpose is to support SCOR Report subscribers and
potential subscribers with basic information about the ways in which
small businesses can raise money.
This site is intended to give the small-business manager or person
considering starting a business the questions he should answer before he
decides to go into business, and the way they should be answered.
That way is through in depth analysis and the use of as much factual
data as possible. Whenever we mention a source of data, we attempt to
link that mention to the source's web.
The site is here to provide a service to entrepreneurs as well as to
the attorneys, accountants and consultants who are the target audience
for the newsletter, SCOR Report. The rationale is that the
clearer the client's view of what he wants to do, the easier it is for
the professional to help him. While the pay-per-view information is
useful to the entrepreneur, it is designed to be useful to the
attorneys, accountants and consultants who are called upon by the
entrepreneurs. This section makes articles from SCOR Report
available on an as needed basis and saves the professional the expenses
associated with storing and maintaining paper.
